North Carolina quilters met March 18, 2006 at Wake County Commons building in Raleigh, NC. Several fun and informative events took place that day. Glenna Williams (our V.P.) facilitated our Forum and those attending received 3 hours of valuable information to take back to their Guilds.
Robin Parton (our Treasurer) taught us how to make fabric postcards. What a variety of ideas came forth in this class! Many of you have already mailed your creations to friends. Robin did a great job putting our creative minds in motion in this class. Thank you Robin for sharing your knowledge with us.
Cathy Wiggins (one of our NCQ members) gave our afternoon lecture on "Designing Quilts from Photographs using Value." Cathy has developed a method for this, that truly produces a work of art. Her lecture guided us through every step involved in the process and was a real learning experience. In addition to a slide presentation with her lecture she showed many interesting quilts she had made using this technique.
North Carolina Quilters is a great place to meet & share with our fellow quilters from around the state! We'd love to have you join us.
If you are interested in joining North Carolina Quilters you may obtain a membership form from this website. (Click on the Membership tab) We have 2 meetings a year. One in March and one in September. Our goal is to perpetuate, promote and preserve the art of quilting...and we certainly have a good time while achieving the goal. We would love to have you join us and meet the quilters from across the state...some are even from other states such as Virginia and Georgia. |
